The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine (NAS) hosts a workshop examining “the intersection of behavioral health, mental health, and health literacy.” The day-long event, held by the Academies’ Roundtable on Health Literacy at NAS’ headquarters in Washington, D.C., will address “the impact of cognitive burden on health communication” and health literacy approaches to address issues such burdens as well as caregiver issues, among other panel topics.
Speakers include representatives from the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), National Alliance for Mental Illness (NAMI), New York State Department of Health and UnitedHealth Group as well as multiple universities. The event, which is scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m. ET, will also be webcast.
