Peter V. Lee is the first executive director of the California exchange. Earlier he was deputy director for the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, where he led initiatives to identify, test and support new models of care. Before joining the Obama administration, he was executive director for National Health Policy of the Pacific Business Group on Health, one of the leading coalitions of private and public purchasers in the nation. An attorney, he’s also done consumer advocacy work, and ran programs for the National AIDS Network.
