Laws regulating when a person with mental illness can be admitted to a psychiatric hospital vary by state, but commonly set a high bar for proving that someone needs to be committed. The National Alliance on Mental Illness’ Los Angeles chapter is hosting a virtual mentoring meeting about state’s laws regarding what’s known as conservatorship; other states call it guardianship.
