The National Hispanic Medical Association (NHMA) hosts its 22nd annual conference in Washington, D.C.  Panel sessions will cover cardiovascular recommendations for Latinos, the impact of various federal health care policies, malnutrition in elderly Latinos, cultural competence, diabetes and obesity, immigrant health issues, and more. Speakers at the NHMA Annual Hispanic Health Conference include: Puerto Rican Governor Ricardo Rosselló Nevarez; Care First Blue Cross Blue Shield Chief Executive Chester Burrell; U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) Administrator George Sigounas. The event’s sponsors include the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention as well as several pharmaceutical companies.
