Health Literacy Month is a time for organizations and individuals to promote the importance of understandable health information. This annual, worldwide, awareness-raising event has been going strong ever since Helen Osborne founded it in 1999.

Materials include the Health Literacy Handbook and a pod cast

Pew Charitable Trust is releasing nearly 100 facts about the state of Americans’ health as part of Health Literacy Month. We’re covering issues like exercise, nutrition, screen time, mental health, and cancer, with the goal of making health information easier to access. Data is from the Pew Research Center and from the CDC, and we’re promoting a short quiz. You can find the quiz, the facts, and the background behind the data at livingfacts.org.
