Richard Besser, M.D., has been president and CEO of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation since April 2017. He is the former acting director for the CDC and was also ABC News’ chief health and medical editor.
The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation is the largest private U.S. foundation devoted solely to improving the nation’s health. It emphasizes access to healthy food, safe housing, employment, transportation, education, as well as clean air and water, as factors in good health.
