The Affordable Care Act is expected to expand public and private dental coverage for children when it takes effect in 2014, but significant gaps will remain, especially for low-income adults age 21 and older. The Kaiser Family Foundation will convene a public forum to examine the gaps and disparities in dental coverage and care in the United States today; the health, social, and other consequences of these systemic deficiencies; and promising strategies for ensuring access to oral health care for all Americans.
The event will begin with a screening of a short segment of a forthcoming Frontline television documentary, produced by Frontline in collaboration with the Center for Public Integrity and introduced by producer Jill Rosenbaum, that examines oral health coverage and access issues.
The forum will move quickly to a discussion with a panel of experts, including:

Diane Rowland, executive vice president of the Kaiser Family Foundation and executive director of the Kaiser Commission on Medicaid and the Uninsured, will chair the forum and make introductory remarks. Jackie Judd, a vice president at the Foundation, will moderate a Q&A between the audience and the panel.
