Feb. 22 marks the end of the one-week “special enrollment period” for people who were trying to get covered through HealthCare.Gov and either faced technical problems (there was a data glitch involving income verification one day before the deadline) or faced very long waits though the call center in the last three days of the regular enrollment period. Most states running their own exchanges have similar SEPs, and a few hit by this year’s heavy snows extended enrollment briefly.
