Presented by the Kaiser Family Foundation’s Media Fellowships Program, the Foundation invites you to attend an interactive webinar: “Covering The Affordable Care Act (ACA): Researching Consumer Stories, Finding New Ideas & Securing Real World Examples.” Exclusively for journalists, this webinar will take place on Thursday, November 14 from 12:30 p.m. ET to 1:30 p.m. ET.

Featuring Kaiser Health News (KHN) Staff Writer Sarah Varney, and KHN’s “Insuring Your Health” columnist Michelle Andrews, this webinar will discuss approaches to covering this complex story by incorporating individual examples; provide tips and techniques for digging into the details of the law (with expert help) to describe how its provisions play out in real life; and suggest new angles and under-reported story ideas. Additionally, they will identify upcoming policy deadlines and timelines, and explore how to weave these into your stories over the next several months. After a brief presentation, both presenters will answer questions.

Journalists may register online by clicking here. Shortly after registering, each participant will receive a confirmation email that contains information about how to join the webinar. If you are unable to attend the webinar, but would like to receive future updates on the series, please email your name and media affiliation to acawebinars@kff.org. You can also use this email address to provide feedback and ideas for the series.

This webinar is the fourth in the “Covering Health Reform: Webinars for Journalists” series that seeks to address key aspects of the ACA, its implications for consumers, and strategies for connecting the dots for different audiences. Video and transcripts are available for the first three webinars at kff.org.
