The Consumer Federation of America holds a two-day event to examine U.S. food policies, from federal food assistance programs to children’s nutrition issues. Panel discussions at the advocacy group’s annual conference will also focus on the rise of chef advocacy as well as the 2016 election and food policy. Experts from AARP Foundation, Oxfam America, Share Our Strength and University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign will lead a session on food inequality at the conference, to be held at the Capital Hilton Hotel in Washington. Representatives from the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the Food and Drug Administration are also scheduled to speak.
