The Alliance for Health Reform will hold a panel event on Friday, Dec. 11 at noon in Washington, D.C., to discuss adults’ physical and mental health needs as they transition out of prison. Many are low-income adults who need assistance connecting to health care coverage and care.
Panelists from PEW Charitable Trusts, Ohio’s Department of Medicaid and the National Urban League will focus on “reentry programs, and the intersection of health policy and the criminal justice system,” according to the Alliance.
The event, titled “Health Care Out from Behind Bars: Meeting Prisoners’ Needs Efficiently,” can also be followed on Twitter using the hashtag #Reentry.
