The Lown Institute’s 2013 Conference will gather clinicians, patient advocates, and civic leaders to discuss the issue of overuse in the health care system and possible solutions to this pervasive problem. A series of panels and speakers will address medical overuse as a global epidemic, explore physician fears of medical malpractice suits, envision the U.S. health care system 25 years from now, and demonstrate how to start conversations about overuse with patients, physicians, and community leaders to foster in attendees a network of collaboration and a framework for addressing the issue.
