The story looks at end of life decision making through the eyes of those most affected. These include ICU doctors and staff, family members of critically ill patients, and most importantly, a dying man who has made a decision about how his family should proceed when the time comes. We also talk with Ellen Goodman about her “Conversation Project,” which hopes to give families tools to have these discussions. We were permitted to be a fly on the wall with one family, as they explored a prior death and planned for their own care.
