Written three months after enactment of the landmark health care overhaul, the story examined early steps being taken to implement health insurance exchanges, a central feature of the health care reform effort. The story focused on many of the design and operational issues that will face state and federal officials and insurance industry executives as they begin early planning to get the exchanges up and running.

The story relied primarily on interviews with key participants involved in implementation of the exchanges.

Sources included insurance industry executives, health care consultants, state insurance commissioners, public policy analysts, and health law experts.

The story was well-received and we have not received any requests for correction.
