Is Your Doctor Out of Date?’ Reader’s Digest

Medical experts talk a lot these days about evidence-based medicine, but patients don't really know what that means or how their doctors should be treating them right now based on the science. After giving an example of a woman who suffered a heart attack because her doctor didn't treat her high blood pressure according to solid evidence, we provided patients with the state of the science for six common conditions, then let them know where their own doctor are likely to be falling short. A sidebar on clinical guidelines (both their strengths and limitations) completed the package.
