Ill in a Day’s Work,’ More magazine

133 million Americans are suffering from chronic illness. These illnesses affect more women than men and that they often start in midlife – the time when many women are at the height of their careers, and when they are likely to be married. More writer Donna Jackson Nakazawa examined what happens to women's lives when they get sick and found that chronic illness has profound effects – often unrecognized by even the sufferer's immediate community – on a woman's career and on her marriage.
