Gun Violence as Public Health Crisis

The violent attack at Sandy Hook Elementary school brought renewed attention to the issue of gun violence. Meanwhile,not yet two months into 2013, and the death rate from gun violence in Chicago continued to rise at alarming rates. PBS NEWSHOUR spoke with doctors there who are looking at gun violence from a new perspective and developing protocols just as they would other public health problems – like diabetes and heart disease.
