Deadly and stubborn, tuberculosis threat rises,’ KPLU

Many people think of tuberculosis as a disease of the past — largely eradicated. But, TB lingers in western Washington, and around the world. In fact, it’s had a bit of a resurgence in America. Now, drug-resistant TB is spreading. This story explores why it’s so hard and expensive to treat tuberculosis. And, more importantly, it shows why there’s a close connection between global health issues — which may seem distant — and local disease threats.
