This presentation provided a statistical and historic overview of the scope of the nation’s elder abuse, neglect and exploitation problem; identified major types of abuse/exploitation; profiled typical abusers/exploiters; covered the issues and challenges legal, medical, social work and protective services personnel face in identifying and preventing cases of abuse; and provided information on interventions and/or prosecution of abusers.
