As a participant in the "Vaccines: Filtering the noise" panel at Health Journalism 2009, Kathy Neuzil (infectious disease expert, PATH) shared a presentation titled "Is vaccine safety relative or absolute? A case study of rotavirus vaccines." Neuzil explained what rotavirus is, why it is a problem, and what some vaccine-related dangers might be. She then talked about the risk-to-benefit equation as related to vaccines, and demonstrated the benefits of widespread rotavirus vaccination.
