Diana Schendel (Ph.D.; lead, research and epidemiology team, Developmental Disabilities Branch, CDC's National Center on Birth Defects and Developmental Disabilities), part of the "Latest moves in unraveling autism" panel at Health Journalism 2009, delivered a presentation titled "Unraveling the causes of autism (and what is CDC doing about it)?" In it, she discussed the possible genetic and environmental causes of autism and new explorations in the early development thereof.
