Tiny electrode devices implanted into the body can alter the typical impulses that travel along the nerves and spinal cord that send messages to the brain. Some uses of the devices include for headaches, abdominal pain and cervical and back pain. Such electrical stimulation therapy has been gaining momentum as some researchers believe that it could prove to be more efficient than medication therapy.
