Deeper dive
With digital health equity, everyone, regardless of social, economic, demographic or geographic differences, should have equal access to digital health resources and should achieve equal health outcomes through the use of these tools. The term emerged from a renewed focus on health equity occurring during a time of rapid digital transformation of the health care system, which provides an opportunity to address many core health equity challenges, according to an October 2021 commentary in the Journal of the American Medical Association.
