Community violence

  • Firearm Violence

Community violence is exposure to intentional acts of interpersonal violence committed in public areas. In the case of firearm violence, these acts are also carried out by individuals who are not intimately related to the victim. Residents in neighborhoods who deal with community violence are impacted not only by witnessing a shooting happen, but also by hearing constant gunfire or seeing people who have been injured or killed by a shooting.
