Carbon Dioxide, or CO2, is a naturally occurring gas found in the atmosphere and is also the byproduct of burning fossil fuels and biomass. Carbon dioxide is also produced by human respiration, as well as various industrial processes and land-use changes. It is the principal human-caused greenhouse gas that affects the Earth’s radiative balance.
