Urban Workshop keynote puts focus on mental health

Keynote Speaker: Steve Lopez

The Los Angeles Times columnist talked about how a series of columns on a homeless, mentally ill musician he passed on the streets each day became a moving book, "The Soloist." The book is being published in eight countries and a Dreamworks movie based on the book is scheduled to be released early next year. See a trailer for The Soloist!

Congratulations to James Mulder of The (Syracuse) Post-Standard. By filling out the evaluation of the Urban Health Journalism Workshop, Mulder won the drawing for free registration to Health Journalism 2009 in Seattle!
