SUMMARY:Nursing Knowledge: Big Data Science Conference
DESCRIPTION:Learn about major milestones achieved toward sharable and comparable nursing data and advance a National Action Plan for consistent documentation and use of nursing and interprofessional data for analytics and big data science. There are 10 virtual workgroups which are working toward how to improve the capture and continuing use of nurse-sensitive data using national standards to to achieve the quadruple aim of better health\, better patient experience\, lower costs and improved work life of health care providers. \nKeynote: Longitudinal\, Patient-Focused\, Interdisciplinary Care\nRebecca Freeman\, Ph.D.\, R.N.\, P.M.P.\, of the ONC Chief Nursing Officer of the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology\, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services\nDelivery system reform will change the way health care is provided and paid for in the United States. Reimbursement will be based on patient outcomes across the care continuum; optimal outcomes will be achieved through efficient\, team-based care that is expertly coordinated across care settings. Ideally\, the movement of information from one care environment to the next must occur. Nurses are natural care coordinators and an integral part of any patient’s health optimization\, but nursing documentation in some care settings is not always sharable and comparable with that of the rest of the care team. As care models change\, nursing should plan for an interdisciplinary\, shared terminology that allows them to be well-represented in the data that represent the care of the patient across the continuum. \nMore information about the event.

SUMMARY:2017 Medical-Legal Partnership Summit
DESCRIPTION:This year’s Medical-Legal Partnership Summit\, headlined by keynote speaker Dr. Jeff Brenner from the Camden Coalition of Healthcare Providers\, will host leaders and practitioners from the public and private sectors for a national conversation about how to integrate health and legal services to better address the social determinants of health. \nNearly 300 hospitals and health centers across the United States already embed lawyers in their health care teams to tackle some of the most complex social problems impeding health and wellbeing\, to improve the quality of health care\, and to reduce health care costs. As the nation moves toward a system of value-based health care\, the Summit is a chance for those in the allied health\, health\, law\, and public health fields to advance this transformation by sharing research\, insights\, and best practices about where and how to most effectively integrate civil legal assistance with healthcare and community services to improve individual and population health\, and to transform the nation’s health care system to be one based on value and health equity. \nApril 5-7\, 2017\nNational Harbor\, Maryland\nThe Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center
