DESCRIPTION:Application deadline: noon CT on Dec. 14\nWith the support of the Leona M. and Harry B. Helmsley Charitable Trust\, AHCJ will be presenting the AHCJ- National Cancer Reporting Fellowship with expertise from the National Cancer Institute and others. \nAHCJ will select journalists to spend three partial days online Jan. 12-14\, 2021\, with experts from the National Institutes of Health to increase their understanding of and ability to report accurately on complex scientific findings\, provide insight into the work of cancer researchers and to better localize cancer-related stories. \nSession topics include:\n\n\nCOVID-19 and cancer connections \n\n\nMoonshots\, dream teams and wars on cancer: What’s ahead? \n\n\nCancer evidence by the numbers \n\n\nHands-on exercises: How to understand and relay cancer statistics \n\n\nThe world of guidelines and cancer screening \n\n\nHow clinical trials work \n\n\nUsing SEER and other data resources \n\n\nStorybuilding: Including patients in the equation \n\n\nLearn more about this fellowship.
