SUMMARY:Webcast: Using LexisNexis news archives\, databases for your reporting
DESCRIPTION:Recorded webcast \nWatch the webcast for important tips on using this resource. Please contact Margaret D. Hart of LexisNexis at margaret.hart@lexisnexis.com if you have questions. \nTo take advantage of the LexisNexis subscription\, click here. \n\nAHCJ members are invited to participate in a free online demo of the LexisNexis news archives\, which journalists use to research subjects and find sources for their work. \nThe webinar is being offered as part of a deal to get discounted access to LexisNexis\, a program for AHCJ members arranged in partnership with the Contently Foundation\, a New York nonprofit for investigative reporting.  \nThe 45-minute session is set for Wednesday\, Nov. 1\, at 1 p.m. Eastern Time.  \nThe event will show you how to make the most of these vast archives. They include 26\,000 newspapers\, magazines\, wires\, trade journals and industry publications\, about 250 of which cover health issues.  \nThere’s also a contacts database used to develop sources by identifying and locating employees of companies and agencies. It provides their business phone numbers and emails\, along with career and personal information. \nThe cost is $19.95 per month\, based on a one-year subscription payable at the time of purchase. To take advantage of the deal\, click here. \nDuring the session\, you’ll learn how to run searches and find information. But you may also submit questions in advance\, and the hosts will provide results during the session. So if you need something immediately for a current project\, this webinar could provide valuable information. \nTo submit questions in advance\, send them by email to Brad Hamilton of the Contently Foundation (brad@expertaccess.org) or Margaret Hart of LexisNexis (margaret.hart@lexisnexis.com). \n \nNote: This webcast is for AHCJ members\, so you will need to have your login and password to participate. If you don’t have that\, please visit this page and enter your email address to have an access key sent to you.

SUMMARY:National Family Caregivers Month
DESCRIPTION:The theme for National Family Caregivers Month is “Caregiving Around the Clock.” \nCaregiving can be a 24-hours a day/7-days a week job. Caring for a senior with Alzheimer’s or a child with special needs can be non-stop. Providing care around the clock can crowd out other important areas of life. And you never know when you will need to rush to the hospital or leave work at the drop of a hat. What challenges do family caregivers face\, and how do they manage them day and night? \nSponsored by the Caregiver Action Network \nContact: info@caregiveraction.org \n(202) 454-3970
