SUMMARY:New administration\, new approach to Medicaid waivers?
DESCRIPTION:The Trump administration has told states to expect “more freedom to design programs that meet the spectrum of diverse needs of their Medicaid population.” Section 1115 Medicaid demonstration waivers have been available to states as long as the program has existed\, but each administration takes its own approach to assessing waiver requests.  \nThis presentation will give attendees an understanding of the Medicaid waiver landscape heading into a busy fall\, when precedent-setting decisions are expected on several states’ proposals. Speakers will discuss the kinds of flexibility states have asked for – and are likely to ask for in the coming months and years – and how these changes may affect Medicaid beneficiaries\, state budgets\, and the future of the ACA coverage discussion. \nWhen:\nThursday\, Sept. 14; 1:30-2:45 p.m. ET \nRegister in advance. \nFeaturing:\n\n\nMatt Salo\, executive director\, National Association of Medicaid Directors \n\n\nCindy Mann\, partner\, Manatt Health \n\n\nJohn McCarthy\, founding partner\, Speire Healthcare Strategies \n\n\nJake Harper\, reporter\, WFYI and Side Effects Public Media \n\n\nKarl Eisenhower of the Alliance for Health Policy will moderate the discussion. \n\n\nFollow the webcast on Twitter: #AllHealthLive \nThis webinar is a collaboration between the Alliance for Health Policy and the Association of Health Care Journalists. SUMMARY:World Anti-Microbial Resistance Congress
DESCRIPTION:Since its start in 2015\, World Anti-Microbial Resistance Congress has set out to provide a platform for change on both the scientific and economic sides of the antimicrobial resistance space. Few other conferences in this area focus on both of these vitally important facets of the AMR issue and bring the leaders from each area together in one place to take steps toward finding collaborative solutions that optimize the best of both worlds.  \nThe World AntiMicrobial Resistance Congress gathers key stakeholders from government\, funding agencies\, pharma\, academia\, hospitals\, and payers to discuss the answers to all of these questions and more. The AMR review presented the world with a series of recommendations on how best to tackle AMR; now it is up to the stakeholders in these industries to come together and facilitate the implementation of these actions. \nThis conference presents solutions through key notes\, case study presentations\, expert opinion\, roundtable discussions and invites key influencers such as BARDA\, NIH\, FDA\, grant agencies\, pharma\, hospitals\, and academia\, in the AMR discussion.
