SUMMARY:CityHealth ratings of 40 US cities to be released
DESCRIPTION:CityHealth rates how the nation’s top 40 cities fare when it comes to policies that have a tremendous impact on people’s health\, well-being\, and quality of life. \nThe ratings will be announced on Feb. 15 and are the culmination of a two-year assessment. CityHealth awarded the 40 most populous cities gold\, silver\, bronze\, or no medal based on the number and strength of their policies in nine areas as well as overall (spoiler alert: only five cities earned an overall gold\, six silver\, and eight bronze – more than half don’t have strong enough policies to warrant an overall medal). \nThe policies CityHealth assessed include: \n\n\nPaid sick days \n\n\nUniversal\, high-quality pre-kindergarten \n\n\nAffordable housing through inclusionary zoning \n\n\nComplete streets \n\n\nAlcohol sales zoning \n\n\nTobacco 21 \n\n\nSmoke-free\, clean indoor air \n\n\nFood safety and restaurant inspection ratings \n\n\nHealthy food procurement \n\n\nContact: Avalon Swindell Jones\, avalon@prcollaborative.com | 202.339.9598
