DESCRIPTION:Stanford University’s Center on Food Security and the Environment (FSE) hosts “The Role of SNAP in the U.S. Social Safety Net: Assessing effects on poverty\, food insecurity and health\,” a lecture by Hilary Hoynes\, a professor of public policy and economics at the center who holds the Haas Distinguished Chair in Economic Disparities. \nAn economist who specializes in poverty\, Hoynes will discuss the program – commonly known as “food stamps” – and its role in improving nutrition as well as on food insecurity and health. RSVPs are requested for the Stanford-based event\, which runs is scheduled for 3:30-5 p.m. \n
