As executive director of the nonprofit Health Care Incentives Improvement Institute\, de Brantes has been working with health plans and providers to implement bundled payment programs since 2007.  \nAs we reported recently\, bundled payment initiatives from the federal Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services have been criticized for not taking full advantage of this innovative payment model. HCI3 works with states\, employers\, health plans and provider organizations\, as well as national consultanciesto advise them on payment and delivery system reform. \nPreviously\, de Brantes was the program leader for various health care initiatives at GE’s corporate headquarters\, responsible for developing and implementing GE’s Active Consumer strategy. \nHe has has been published in peer-reviewed journals such as the New England Journal of Medicine\, the Journal of the American Medical Association and Health Affairs and is frequently quoted in national media including The New York Times.
