SUMMARY:“The _____ (Doctor/Nurse/Other) Will See You Now”: Rethinking Scope of Practice
DESCRIPTION:This webinar will give you the latest on a flurry of state legislation to allow nurses\, nurse practitioners and other medical providers to do more to care for patients. \nMore than 25 million people are expected to gain insurance coverage through the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act\, increasing the demand for care. At the same time\, the Association of American Medical Colleges has projected a shortage of 90\,000 physicians over the next ten years. \nLegislative proposals in states throughout the country would rethink the role of nurses\, nurse practitioners\, pharmacists and other medical providers in caring for patients.
