DESCRIPTION:The World Conference of Science Journalists 2013 provides excellent opportunities for science journalists and communication professionals to meet in the heart of Helsinki\, in the middle of Nordic summer. \nThe main theme of the Conference is Critical Questioning in the Public Sphere. This applies equally to both journalists and to the public. Media content and channels are in rapid flux. Social media are evolving. What does this mean for science journalism? \nComplexity in the sphere of science is growing. Changes in topics\, points of view and areas is interests will challenge journalists to adopt new orientations in their profession. What kind of science journalism is needed in the future? \nThe conference will include a pre-conference day (24 June) with skill building workshops\, three full conference days and aone day (28 June) for tailored post-tours. The conference language is English.

Science journalists will be able to exchange ideas and discuss their roles in the new and rapidly changing media landscape. \nWCSJ2013 provides an agenda for revisiting our values and approaches in interactive sessions.
