2009 AHCJ-Ethnic Media Health Journalism Fellowships


The deadline to apply for fellowships has passed. AHCJ, with the support of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, Missouri Foundation for Health, the California HealthCare Foundation and the California Endowment; was able to award 55 fellowships to journalists for this conference.

Need financial assistance to attend Health Journalism 2009, the national conference of the Association of Health Care Journalists?

Thanks to the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation's generous support, AHCJ will be able to grant a number of professional fellowships for the April 16-19 conference in Seattle.

Fellowships are open to full-time journalists who work at one of the nation's ethnic media outlets - print, broadcast or online. Ethnic media is defined here as serving a predominantly minority or ethnic audience.

Fellowships include:

  • all conference registration fees
  • a year's membership in the AHCJ (new or extended)
  • up to four nights in the conference hotel
  • up to $300 in travel costs

Deadline: Applications must be postmarked no later than March 6.
