Hospital-acquired infections

On Nov. 14, 2006, the Pennsylvania Health Care Cost Containment Council released a report on hospital-acquired infections. Consumers Union says this report is the first of its kind to tell consumers how many patients picked up infections at each of the state's hospitals, and how many died from them. Consumers Union says no other state or federal agency has compiled and released hospital-specific data reported directly from the facilities.
