"Hurricane Katrina: Allocation and Use of $2 Billion for Medicaid and Other Health Care Needs," Government Accountability Office: The report examines how CMS allocated $2 billion through Medicaid and SCHIP to several states affected by Hurricane Katrina. The report also examines how states used the funds and if Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas would require more funding after the first allotment (GAO, February 2007).
