DOD health care reform committee's final action report
Military Health System Senior Oversight Committee has released its final report , after evaluating and implementing certain recommendations for the reform of the Department of Defense's military health care system.
In December, 2007 the Task Force on the Future of Military Health Care issued its final report and recommendations. In March of the following year, the oversight committee was formed to evaluate and implement the task force's recommendations.
The committee accepted, at least partially, 10 of the task force's 12 recommendations. It deferred an audit of its systems for determination of eligibility for benefits and rejected a call to commission a study on better coordinating retirees who use both private insurance providers and TRICARE (the civilian health care component of the military system).
