AHCJ-Ethnic Media Health Journalism Fellowships

AHCJ, with support from the Leona M. & Harry B. Helmsley Charitable Trust, provides financial assistance to journalists who work at one of the nation's ethnic media outlets who wish to attend AHCJ's annual conference.

Fellowships are open to full-time journalists who work at one of the nation's ethnic media outlets – print, broadcast or online. Ethnic media is defined here as serving a predominantly minority or ethnic audience.

If selected for a fellowship, you may be asked to write an AHCJ website blog post, take pictures or shoot video of a conference session.

Fellowship includes:

  • conference registration fee

  • one year's membership in AHCJ (new or extended)

  • Up to four nights in conference hotel (Wed.-Sat.) outside of 50-mile radius from host hotel

  • Up to $400 for travel assistance (outside of 50-mile radius from host hotel) and up to $100 (inside of 50-mile radius from host hotel).
