Career Development: Fellowships, Internships, Training & Grants
AHCJ-Missouri Health Journalism Fellowships
AHCJ, with the support of the Missouri Foundation for Health, provides financial assistance to journalists and journalism students who wish to attend AHCJ's annual conference.
Fellowships are open to full-time Missouri print, broadcast and online journalists and part-timers or freelancers who derive the majority of their income from journalism. The student fellowships are open to full-time college or university students studying journalism or mass communication in Missouri.
If selected for a fellowship, you may be asked to write an AHCJ website blog post, take pictures or shoot video of a conference session.
Students will be asked to share a room with another student fellow.
conference registration fee
one year's membership in AHCJ (new or extended)
up to four nights in conference hotel (Wed.-Sat.)
up to $400 for travel assistance within the continental United States. This may not cover ALL travel costs.
In an effort to help journalists in all size markets across the state, at least half of the fellowships will be awarded to journalists working outside the St. Louis and Kansas City metro areas.
To improve your chance of being selected, apply early. Fellowship selections will be announced the week after the deadline.
