July 26, 2023

We're less than a month away from the 2023 Rural Health Journalism Workshop in Kansas City, Mo.! This year's theme is "The 5 Most Urgent Conversations About Rural Health."

We'll start with an overview of rural demographics and then talk about cultural competence in telehealth care; how people get health info in news deserts; finding a maternal health solution; investigating environmental health; and how rural harm reduction fits into the fight against overdose.

If you're a journalist based in Kansas or Missouri, you can apply for an AHCJ scholarship to offset the cost of attending the workshop. Scholarships will pay for mileage, registration and one hotel night. Apply here.
