Boston AHCJ chapter: Meet Massachusetts’ new health honcho

05/14/13     Boston, MA

The Boston conference of the Association of Health Care Journalists was a huge success, in no small part because of the efforts of those of you who served on the local organizing committee or moderated panels. We had record attendance and received rave reviews.

Now, we want to keep the excitement going with regular meetings of the Boston chapter of AHCJ. First up is an evening with John Polanowicz, the state’s top health official. He will talk about current health issues in Massachusetts and answer questions, and there will be an opportunity to socialize with Mr. Polanowicz and your journalism colleagues. Refreshments will be served.

WHAT: Meet John Polanowicz, the new secretary of the Executive Office of Health and Human Services. A former hospital executive and a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point and Stanford University’s business school, Polanowicz oversees 15 state agencies. With his background as a company commander in the U.S. Army, he has a special interest in issues facing veterans and military families.

WHEN: Tuesday, May 14, 6:30-8:30 p.m.

WHERE: Boston Globe media lab, 135 Morrissey Blvd., Boston

Please RSVP by Monday, May 6, to AHCJ: info@healthjournalism.org
