Health Professionals Advancing LGBT Equality, previously known as the Gay & Lesbian Medical Association, or GMLA, holds its 35th annual conference addressing lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender health.
This year’s event, entitled “From Resistance to Resilience: Filling the Gaps in LGBT Healthcare and Research,”aims “focus on healthcare innovations and groundbreaking research that improve the health and well-being of LGBT patients and their families” amid the current political environment and efforts to repeal and replace the 2010 Affordable Care Act and other programs affecting LGBT health.
It will also focus on” topics that address the intersection of sexual orientation and gender identity with other identities,” such as race, immigration status, socioeconomic status and geographic location. The four-day event will be held in Philadelphia.
