The Washington, D.C., chapter of the Association of Health Care Journalists and the American Psychological Association invite you to “Language Do’s and Don’ts.”
Join fellow journalists, psychologists and representatives from APA for an interactive discussion about choosing wording that’s both sensitive and straightforward when reporting on the LGBT community, people with disabilities and people with mental health conditions.
Reporters who have questions or examples from their own work are encouraged to submit their ideas before the event to Kimberly Leonard at kleonard@usnews.com.
The event will be held in APA’s state-of-the-art rooftop conference center and of course, beverages and snacks will be served. All journalists are welcome.
