Merrill Goozner has over 25 years experience writing news articles on a variety of topics for numerous publications ranging from major newspapers to online magazines to policy journals. In recent years, he has focused his research and writing on health issues. He is author of “The $800 Million Pill: The Truth Behind The Cost of New Drugs” (University of California Press, 2004) and an online blog at http://www.gooznews.com. His reporting career at the Chicago Tribune (1987-2000) took him from Chicago to Tokyo (chief Asian correspondent) to New York (chief financial correspondent) to Washington (chief economics correspondent). He taught journalism at New York University from 2000-2003, He has also worked in a management capacity at public interest advocacy organizations
