What a difference an X makes: The state of women’s health research a focus on female veterans

This scientific conference will highlight sex differences in a number of conditions that affect female veterans who have been exposed to military combat. The Society for Women’s Health Research (SWHR), a national non-profit organization based in Washington, D.C., is widely recognized as the thought leader in research on sex differences and is dedicated to improving women’s health through advocacy, education, and research.

Topics and speakers include:

  • Mental Health Part 1: Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder – Ann Rasmusson, MD and Kathryn Magruder, MPH, PhD
  • Mental Health Part 2: Depression – Peter Schmidt, MD, and Kristin Mattocks, PhD, MPH
  • Urogenital Issues – Christine Sears, MD * The Musculoskeletal System – Barbara Boyan, PhD, and Captain Jessica Cross, MD
  • Traumatic Brain Injury – Donald G. Stein, PhD, and Kimberly Meyer, MSN, APRN, CNRN

Registration fee for the conference is $35 per person, $20 for students. SWHR, in partnership with the National Association of Nurse Practitioners in Women’s Health (NPWH), is offering 5 CE credits, including 1 pharmacology credit, for attending this conference. The fee for receiving CE credit is an additional $100.
