About AHCJ: General News
International membership discount extended Date: 10/23/07
In its October meeting in New York, the AHCJ board of directors approved extending the association's international membership discount for another year. The discount, allowing journalists from countries outside the United States and Canada to join for $30, was first approved in the fall of 2006. Since that time, AHCJ has added additional international members and drawn interest from organizations interested in pursuing joint international projects.
The discount is aimed at journalists signing up for the first time. The aim is to introduce more international journalists to the resources AHCJ has to offer and allows us to extend our network of members who may be able to assist each other on global health stories. The special rate requires the new members to take HealthBeat and other mailings electronically, which reduces postage costs.
AHCJ now has members in 19 nations, including new additions from Haiti, South Korea and China.
