Save the date: Orlando to host Health Journalism 2017 Date: 08/03/16

COLUMBIA, Mo. – Orlando will be the site of Health Journalism 2017, the Association of Health Care Journalists has announced.

The annual conference of AHCJ is slated for April 20-23, 2017, at the Rosen Centre Hotel (9840 International Drive). The conference, which usually draws 700-800 attendees, will feature three and a half days of workshops, panel sessions, roundtables and field trips covering the latest topics in medical science, health policy, public health, medical education, consumer health and the business of health care. Sessions focus on the special needs of reporters, editors and producers as they attempt to cover these topic areas for their audiences.

The conference will include the annual luncheon for Awards for Excellence in Health Care Journalism, as well as receptions and other meals included in the registration fee.

Local sponsors so far include Florida Hospital Orlando, Mayo Clinic-Jacksonville, Nemours Children’s Health System and the University of Florida Health. National sponsors so far include the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, Hastings Center, John A. Hartford Foundation, Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation and the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute.
