Aging in the 21st Century: Apply for Ethnic Media Fellowships

 

Thanks to The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation’s generous support, AHCJ will be able to grant a number of professional fellowships for the Oct. 16 & 17 workshop in Miami.

Fellowships are open to full-time journalists who work at one of the nation’s ethnic media outlets–print, broadcast or online. Ethnic media is defined here as serving a predominantly minority or ethnic audience.

Fellowship applications are being accepted until Sept. 11. Earlier applications are encouraged. Download a PDF of the form or fill out the form below, then mail the supporting materials as described below.

After this form is submitted, please be sure to send us your supporting materials:

  1. Include a cover letter briefly telling about yourself, explaining why you want to attend the workshop and why you are requesting a fellowship.
  2. Attach a current resume.
  3. Attach a short letter of recommendation from a supervisor or former supervisor. Self-employed may use an assigning editor or client. The letter should comment on your strengths as well as how you might benefit from the workshop. (Students may use a journalism professor or editor.)
  4. Attach a copy of one story you have published or aired since Jan. 1, 2009. (broadcasters may include a CD or DVD)
